On September 6, the Hon. Lindsay Blackett, Minister of Culture for Alberta, presented Sid Marty with the Grant MacEwan Literary Arts Award, The award recognizes Sid's contribution to Alberta and
Canadian Literature during his career to date, as a nonfiction author and poet. The Grant MacEwan
Literary Arts Award consists of a silver sculpture and a cash prize of 50,000 dollars. It is
one of the largest literary prizes in Canada

- Sid's fall singer songwriter tour with bluesman Ken Hamm, http://www.kenhamm.com/ kicks off at the Twin Butte Community store and café on September 24. Twin Butte is located south of Pincher Creek Alberta not far from Waterton Lakes National Park. Call Jenny at (403)627-4035 for ticket information.

- The current literary project is a book of new and selected poems, which will include poems from Headwaters (l973), Nobody Danced With Miss Rodeo(l981), Sky Humour (l999) and a number of other poems published in anthologies, literary magazines and chapbooks.
