Sid Marty remains active as a speaker on literary, environmental and related political issues for groups interested in these topics. But for most groups and associations, he prefers to present stories that dramatize the connection between people and nature and between people living today and historic events that connect us to our ancestors. Both dramatic stories and humour are key components of his presentations.

The Edmonton Journal calls him
"... a magnificent storyteller. Like a bush-camp cook, he throws everything into the pot—high adventure-comedy, tragedy, even the lyric adjective..."

And for something completely different: Although his emphasis is on spoken material, Sid Marty can, depending on the venue, offer a performance that combines spoken word recital with music, since he has been a musician (singer/songwriter) for many years. This works because the subject matter of his songs is closely linked to the themes of his published books.
